Court Extends SeaTac’s $15 Minimum Wage To Airport Workers

Voters carried the day, I applaud them for it. I am equally impressed with the state’s Supreme Court for recognizing the degree of unfairness in excluding airport workers from a voter sponsored pay increase. Since when did purchasing power become such a bone of contention? I forget where I read it, but whenever the minimum wage or any pay increase is brought up, you immediately hear about how calamitous it will be to product cost, however you never hear that whenever C.E.O’s get their increase in pay. This single fact just shows you how illlegitimate their arguments really are, and by they, I mean any of the supply-side economists and all of the republicans; their entire reasoning makes no sense, but they still will argue how it is of critical importance to keep executive pay competitive, while at the same time slashing all other pay down to poverty wages. It is all about directing wealth where you want it to go, in this case it is upwards as it has been since Ronald Reagan became President. We need to continue demonstrating, striking and protesting wherever it is needed to force all of America to accept that paying a living wage is the right thing to do, end of story.
