Ted Cruz: Republicans ‘Terrified’ To Fight Obamacare
Ted Cruz is yet another example of what you do not want in an elected official; someone who, once elected, refuses to listen and consider what the electorate, in fact, want from them. Instead of adopting a neutral position and looking at all the data as it is coming in about the ACA and its future implications, Ted Cruz is only operating under ideological terms. He ignores the fact that Obamacare is modeled after Romneycare which has worked in MA, that the model was developed at the Heritage Foundation and that so far CA, N.Y and Maryland have seen premiums decrease at substantial rates due to the health care exchanges. Basically Obamacare, alongside social security and Medicare, is a slap in the face to every conservative out there, why because it works. It also shows what good government programs can mean for the people. What I find most galling is the fact that conservatives are willing to make American lives harder, more costly and more dangerous simply because Obamacare doesn’t fit in with their ideological beliefs. Health care coverage should be a right and not a privilege, it is so sad that in this day and age, we still need to fight for this simple recognition that is in my mind, inextricably linked to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
